Another piece inspired by my friendship with Paul Dunn. Paul was always happy to play me new music I wouldn't have otherwise heard. One afternoon over tea he put on Richard Thompson's 1981 album, Strict Tempo. The first track is a set of two reels, "New-Fangled Flogging Reel" and "The Kerry Reel". The guitar/drum/bass arrangement inspired me to write my own three-part reel. I took the tune to my band, The Nobs, while we were recording our first album. Rob and Pepper were game, helped me arrange it (adding the nod to Rush at the end), and our "love theme" was born.
